Consumer information (New Zealand)

Effective date: 11 May 2026 · Trader: Gryxonarkriz, 181 Woodham Road, Avonside, Christchurch 8061

This page summarises how New Zealand consumer law interacts with our workshops, downloads, and website. It is a guide, not legal advice. If you need tailored advice, speak to a lawyer or community law centre.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA)

When you acquire services or digital content from us as a consumer and we supply in trade, the CGA guarantees that services are carried out with reasonable care and skill, are fit for purpose, and are completed within a reasonable time. Remedies can include repair, repeat performance, or refund where a failure cannot be fixed or is substantial. Some business-to-business supplies can be contracted out of the CGA only where the parties meet the statutory criteria; we do not rely on contracting out for ordinary consumer purchases described on our offer pages.

Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA)

We must not mislead you about price, characteristics, sponsorship, or availability. If you believe a statement on this site or in an advertisement is misleading, contact us first. You may also contact the Commerce Commission, which enforces the FTA at a regulatory level.

Commerce Commission

The Commerce Commission Te Komihana Tauhokohoko accepts complaints about misleading conduct and unfair contract terms. Website: comcom.govt.nz.

Disputes Tribunal

For lower-value civil claims (within monetary limits set by regulations), the New Zealand Disputes Tribunal can offer a quicker path than the District Court. Eligibility depends on claim type and amount; see disputestribunal.govt.nz.

Returns and refunds

Our contract-level return rules sit in the Return policy. Where those rules and the CGA differ, the CGA prevails to the extent required by law.
